Web Design

When I saw the opportunity to help my church, Grace Community Church, improve its branding and online presence, I knew it was a project worth taking on. Over the years, different people had contributed to the church’s logo, website, and online content, but without a unified approach, things had become disjointed. My goal was to bring everything together in a way that was professional, intentional, and accessible—so the church’s message could reach people more effectively.

Refreshing the Logo

The first thing I tackled was the church logo. No one was quite sure where the previous version had originated, but it was clear that it wasn’t professionally designed—with overly bright colors, inconsistent line weights, and misaligned elements. Rather than starting from scratch (which would have required replacing all existing printed materials), I opted for a refined version of the existing design.

Balanced the line widths and spacing for a more polished look.
Toned down the colors to be more visually appealing.
Created black and white variations for high-contrast applications.
The result was a modernized, cohesive logo that maintained the original intent while improving its overall design and usability.

Overhauling the Website

Next, I turned my attention to the church website, which had accumulated layers of elements from different contributors over time. The result was an overwhelming, cluttered experience that lacked cohesion. My goal was to streamline and clarify the content while making it easier for visitors to find what they needed.

Original Website

Key updates included:
Decluttering the design for a cleaner, more user-friendly experience.
Adding clear descriptions for all ministries to make it easier for people to get involved.
Expanding the giving section with scriptural support to provide clarity on why and how to give.
• Introducing a prayer request feature that connects directly to our Elephant Circle prayer group.
The result was a more engaging, informative, and navigable website that better serves the church community.

New Website

Launching the YouTube Channel

The final piece of the project was creating a YouTube channel for the church. The goal was to provide a growing sermon library, allowing people to access messages anytime, anywhere.
I handled:
Creating and branding the channel to match the website.
Editing and uploading sermon footage to build an accessible video library.
With this update, members can revisit past sermons and newcomers can discover the church’s message online, expanding the reach beyond Sunday mornings.

Final Thoughts

This project was a labor of love—a way to use my skills to support the mission of Grace Community Church. By refining the logo, overhauling the website, and launching a YouTube presence, I was able to create a more cohesive and effective digital identity for the church.

Technology should be a tool for connection, not a barrier, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to help make that a reality for my church family.
